In January we were pleased to welcome Paul and Patrick from the Ulster Orchestra to chat to the whole school. They brought their instruments with them and amazed us with their skills playing a range of music from the James Bond Theme to The Bare Necessities!

 

Paul and Patrick are both trumpet players from within the brass family. They explained about the five sections of the orchestra and about how the size of each instrument affects the pitch of the notes they play. They taught us how to use our mouths to make the 'brrrrrrr' vibrating sound all brass instrument players need to make when they play.

 

We had great fun as they conducted us in clapping games. Knockbreda Primary School would like to thank Paul and Patrick for coming to visit our school.
