The Curriculum

 

Our aim is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which gives every pupil the opportunity to experience success in learning and to achieve his/her potential.

 

 

The curriculum is set out in six areas of learning:

 

• Language and Literacy
• Mathematics and Numeracy
• The Arts (Art and Design, Music and Drama)
• The World Around Us
  (Geography, History, Science and Technology)
• Personal Development and Mutual Understanding
• Physical Education

 

Embedded within the core of the curriculum are the essential skills of Communication, Using ICT, Mathematics and Thinking, and Personal Capabilities.

 

Within Knockbreda we endeavour to recognise and meet the varying needs of all our pupils.  Additional support, where required, is provided within aspects of the core curriculum.
