Learning Centre News
Staff understand the importance of meeting the needs of all children in Knockbreda. Pupils who experience difficulty with their work are identified at an early stage and the class teacher and Special Needs Co-ordinator work together to devise suitable individual educational programmes.
Knockbreda is an inclusive school in that children with social, emotional, educational or other difficulties are either fully or partially integrated into mainstream classes.
Children with autistic spectrum difficulties are made welcome and their needs are met in mainstream or in the Learning Centres.
A Special Visitor to the Senior Learning Centre

Do you watch ‘Deal or No Deal’? If you do then you’ll know that one of the most popular contestants recently was Marcus from Belfast. He won £31,000 and endeared himself to everybody with his talent, confidence and sparkling personality. Now he is back and as well as his manager’s job he has contracts for radio presenting.
Did you know that he went to Knockbreda Primary School? Did you know that he was in our Learning Centre? This week Marcus came back to school to talk to all the children in Mrs. Murphy’s class. He told them all about having dyslexia and how much he appreciated the help when he was here. He said that being dyslexic does not need to hold you back in life and everyone should aim to be whatever they want. He certainly has. He also brought the class loads of sweets!
